Little Black Dress Initiative
THE NINTH ANNUAL JLAC LBDI : MAY 5TH-9TH, 2025
The Little Black Dress Initiative (LBDI) is a fundraising program which Junior League of Anderson County (JLAC) member and LBDI advocates wear the same black dress or outfit for five consecutive days to raise awareness for those living in poverty in our community. The dress represents the struggles our women and children face in our community daily. By wearing a button that reads “Ask me About my Dress” , LBDI advocates invite dialogue among colleagues, friends and strangers to raise awareness about poverty and how it affects our community.
The funds collected fuel JLAC’s outreach programs in the Anderson Community.
Funds this year are used to support JLAC’s community initiatives including:
- Seats for Safety
- The Lot Project
- First Light
- and more to be determined
